I first spoke with Rob about a running plan at the beginning of the year. I had run 3:46 at VLM and wanted to make sure I got my gfa. Rob said he could certainly help me achieve my goal, which was only a couple of minutes quicker, but secretly I wanted to smash it. Sub 3:40 if not quicker. My goal race was the Liverpool RnR marathon.
Rob set out the initial few weeks of the plan and I began training. The plan was challenging but fair and was just what I needed. I only missed out on a 10k pb at the Maddog by a small margin, however we did run in winds up to 40mph.
In April we decided a half marathon was a good idea, so I entered the Valiants 1/2, what a good idea that was, as I was 1st lady home and knocked a few minutes off my pb, all run on tired legs. I knew I was in good shape. Coming up to the marathon I had a discussion with Rob and agreed a target time and some tactics.
Well I'm very pleased to say I ran 3:27, 19 mins off my pb, and finished 10th lady. London next year for me and I can't wait. So, yes I would definitely recommend Rob if you want help in achieving a new pb.
